Sneak preview of Haggis....

My Lion pattern is nearing completion... I'm working out the last bits of his head & mane at the moment. The muzzle, body, arms & legs are done and look just how I pictured in my head :)

As soon as the head and mane sections are crocheted... I'll felt all the pieces & keep my fingers crossed that my original felted swatch tension was correct so I won't have to re-do any parts!

So while you're waiting for the finished lion I thought you'd like to see my outline sketch of the next amigurumi toy...

His name is Haggis the highland cow. He's going to be very shaggy all over with curly horns next to his ears and a loveable grin.

Scrummy new yarn to play with...

I only ordered this yarn yesterday lunch time. When I got back from taking F to his Jump & jiggle session this morning at 10.45am.... the parcel had been delivered!

I couldn't wait to get the box open and have a sneaky peek before putting F down for his morning nap.... so after a quick look I had to put it out of his reach. After F had his mid morning drink of milk & bit of banana he happily went of to the land of nod. Which means now I get to play :)

First for yarns even packed in a wee surprise... a scrummy Cadbury's Eclair sweet (lasted all of 30secs). I can see myself buying lots more from them.... so much choice and a speedy service too.

New category in name the lion...

I wasn't sure if I could get away with a girl name for a lion with a big mane.... but why not?! Can always add a bow to the mane :) So I've decided to have 2 winners.... The best girl & best boy names will each win a copy of the pattern. I've almost finished the body section of the pattern... so nearly half way through.

Thanks for all of your names so far,

Fi

It's been a hectic week...

Phew! It's been a hectic week this week...

I've been concentrating on the mother of the bride dress i'm making so it was ready for Angela's fitting today so I've not had much time to devote to writing the pattens for the crochet toys.

I have been sketching designs for the new toys, researching yarns, doing my business plan, taking F out to his usual activities, finding someone to come and fix the washing machine, taking Douglas dog to the vet (he's now back on anti-biotics) & getting organised to open my etsy store... to name but a few.

We've had some strange weather this week too... cold/warm, sunny/rainy & windy. Typical British weather & all of them happening in the same afternoon! It has given some spectacular views from the windows of our flat. I was making F's tea the other day and waiting for everything to cook.... gazing out the window as you do. The tide was in ( for a change) and the clouds were changing colour with the setting sun and suddenly it gave me the urge to dash for the camera.... With some perilous leaning out the window I got some nice shots before the clouds moved away.
